ABKGroup in the UCSD VLSI CAD Laboratory derives a substantial portion of its research support from the MARCO Gigascale Silicon Research Center (one of four existing Focus Research Centers in the MARCO Focus Center Research Program, which is supported by DARPA, SRC, and members of the Semiconductor Industry Association and the Semiconductor Industry Suppliers Association). Professor Kahng initially led the GSRC Fabrics Thrust with Larry Pileggi of CMU, then from the second year of the GSRC has led the "Calibrating Achievable Design" Theme.
